Norma
Gentile is a professional recording artist and
singer who received a Bachelors and Masters in
Voice Performance from the University of Michigan.
She is also a natural clairvoyant healer and
trained intuitive. Her three CDs of chant by

and Healing
Chants,,
have met with
international praise. Her concerts, workshops and
recordings reflect her passion in bringing music
from the inaudible realms into the physical world
for healing purposes. Her formal
training in music combined with her studies in
esoteric healing have helped Norma understand how
sound affects our ability to heal. With this
awareness she is a pioneer in the field of sound
and healing. Norma teaches workshops across the
country in this arena, and has earned critical
praise internationally for her recordings of sacred
chant. Considered one of the leading specialists in
the performance of Gregorian chants of the 12th
century mystic and abbess Hildegard
von Bingen,
her concert performances are unique experiences of
sacred sound and sacred healing. She has been
featured on CBS-TV and on nationally syndicated
radio shows such as All Things Considered,
Harmonia, and Sound & Spirit. Her
music is utilized by Carolyn Myss, Drunvalo
Melchizedek and other presenters. Her healing
experience is recounted in Brooke Medicine-Eagle's
book The Last Ghost Dance. Norma's articles
appear regularly in magazines as diverse as
Early Music America Magazine, Sedona Journal,
The Monthly Aspectarian, and numerous monthly
metaphysical magazines.. She brings

been invited to teach at the American Conservatory
Theater and Wisdom
University.
She coached cast members of Broadway shows Vagina
Monologues and The Lion King, as well as singers
from musical groups as diverse as Sweet Honey in
the Rock and Hesperion XXI. She has presented
workshops and been a keynote speaker on Sound
Healing for the Association of Humanistic
Psychology, Call-to-Action National Convention,
University of Michigan Hospitals, Song of the
Morning Yoga Retreat Center, Weber Dominican
Center, and Edgar Cayce's Association for Research
and Enlightenment. Also a
writer and channel for Archangel Michael and Mary,
Norma's columns appear regularly in the Sedona
Journal and are circulated to more than 30 monthly
magazines world-wide. Her musical compisitions in
the style of Hildegard have been recorded on the
Healing Chants label. Her
background includes teaching and researching in
Spain, where she co-founded an early music ensemble
harpsichordist and conductor with Eduardo Lopez
Banzo.(who records for Deutche Gramophone/Harmonia
Mundi) Here in the US she founded the original
instrument ensemble Oriana, directed the
madrigal group Our Lady's Madrigal Singers,
and served on the Board of Directors of The
Academy of Early Music. Norma currently serves
on the International Editorial Board of OCHRE,
Journal of Women's Spirituality, published by
the California Institute of Integral Studies, a
project of the Women's Spirituality Program.
